2021 Kioti NX4510
Hello,
Just bought a new Kioti with SSQA bucket. I'm looking at grapples and found one on an auction that is listed as "Skidsteer grapple bucket" with the attached picture. Should anything labeled Skidsteer work with my loader (KL6010) or do I need to look for specific "compact tractor" items? SHould all Skidsteer attachements have the same dimensions for the quick attach brackets? I'm new to this SSQA bucket so I'm trying to figure it out.

Thanks!

Bracket wise yes SSQA (skid steer quick attach) is SSQA - it should attach.

One note about grapples made for skid steers / track loaders - they are generally very heavy which greatly reduces the amount of load you can pick up on a compact tractor.

Also skid steer grapples will often come with flat faced hydraulic couplers you'd need to swap to 1/2" ag to hook up to your loader if you have the Kioti third function installed. No big deal on this.

I can't recommend enough though the wicked grapples by Everything Attachments made for tractors. They are strong but more important light weight so you can use more of the capacity of your loader.

Do you know the overall width of grapple? Otherwise, that ssqa bracket looks a little narrow for its height.

The one the original poster pictured looks like a standard SSQA bracket - looks righteous to me. It is just an overall big grapple. At least 6' maybe 7' wide.

Its listed as 75". Perhaps larger than ideal but if the price is right I may jump on it. My tractor came with a 72" bucket. Unfortunately there is no model or brand info listed so I can't do any research on the weight of the unit.

As others have said... weight of a grapple definitely matters on a tractor FEL... prior to find a good auction deal on a smaller unit I borrowed a 68" bobcat grapple from a friend, that thing was way to heavy for our 40HP machine...

75" grapple IMO is a big grapple for your machine... probably not just the weight but maneuverability. With our smaller grapple I'm able to get to rocks / logs & debris that are near other objects that I would never be able to grab easily with a larger one.... just a thought.

I've got a skid steer capable 600 or 700 hundred lb grapple that I also use on my compact kubota. That much weight out that far beyond the front wheels makes the tractor buck and gallop* on rough ground. I never use it on the Kubota without heavy ballast in back but I don't think rear ballast helps much.

*think, industrial loader/backhoe galloping down the road at top speed.

I have a grapple off a skid steer I use on my 55 hp tractor and also factory pallet forks attachment literally off of a New Holland L778 Skid steer.
They both work great.
If the grapple is a good Price I say get it. You won't be tearing it up easily and the Kioti's have pretty stout FELs from tractordata yours is rated 2760lb. at pin to full height.
Seems like a no brainer, any grapple is better than None.

After looking at the pic earlier in the thread that grapple 'resembles" the older series Stout brand grapple for skid steers
