Skunk problem

Forget about moth balls and shooting them, You just need a good outside dog who hates skunks. Now I would have trouble believing this but I was lucky enough to see it. We had a black lab when I was still at home that hated skunks. His method was to charge at a skunk full speed and toss it six feet up into the air with his nose. While it was coming down he was in four wheel drive getting turned around before it hit the ground. Then it was chomp chomp chomp from end to end, shake the living day lights out of it, repeat until dead. There was very little smell as the skunk was rather dazed after hitting the ground and didn't really have a chance to use his ammunition. The dog would go for a swim in the pond and a few days later there was no smell.

The dog next door kills them all the time.

But, he gets skunked all the time too.

Actually IMHO I would rather have a dog get skunked than the aftermath of a tangle with a porcupine, if I had to choose one or the other. Friend has taken his dog to the vet 3X @ $250/visit. Dog goes absolutely wild when it sees a porky.

Actually I like what my little Cocker Spaniel does when he sees a porky or skunk. He comes and sits between my feet and whimpers a little. Sure costs one h*ll of a lot less money & time.

For getting a skunk out of a building where you can't shoot a real gun and can't use a water hose, a paintball gun could be useful. At least you can make it look weird.

Skunk fighting is close quarters and fast moving hence the Eotech. Shoot early, shoot fast, shoot often.

Lightninboy - It took me a little over 5 minuets to quit laughing and get that picture out of my head. The skunk runin' into your house - you in hot pursuit with paint ball gun 'a blazin. I don't know what would be worse - cleaning up the mess or explaining to the wife.
