Slammed tailgate on '05 Dodge P/U and now can't get it open.

I had a misalignment once and had the exact same result. That gate wasn't going to open without some work. The ultimate last resort would be to cut the pins off.

An observation here is that anyone spraying bedliner on should think of putting a small piece of tape or something over the screw heads so you can peel the liner off them afterwards. That is, of course if you're ever planning to get at the tailgate mechanicals for a repair.

Too bad you didn't have a gooseneck trailer hooked up. Unhooking them and driving off will open a tailgate every time.
