I mentioned this before, after a good hour run, there is some coolant bubbling out of the head gasket on the right hand side. I spoke with the my buddy who did the rebuild, it has been doing this on/off for 10 years, and even stopped for a long while. I'm probably using it harder than he did. When he did the engine, the block and/or head may have been (probably were) planed and the wet sleeves weren't cut as well, so maybe they are up to high in the block. There also appears to be a lip around each chamber in the head (to hold sleeve down), which wasn't re-cut when the head was done. Seems like the simplest fix would be a slightly thicker head gasket, if one exists. Any ideas? The gasket doens't look very compressed...

Thanks,
- Patrick

Have you retorqued it after the rebuild?

Over on the ytmag ford N- board.. when we run into a head or deck problem, some of the guys will go to a fiber gasket as opposed to the metal impregnated one.. and it is not unheard of to try two headgaskets.. etc

I'll check with the guy who did the engine. The manual calls for a re-torque after a full warm up, don't know if that was done, but it probaby was. I was going to re-do it this fall anyway. Yeah, two gaskets, ugh, it's an idea, I know people do it. I'll have to look into a fiber gasket and figure out what is on it now.

Thanks,
- P
