I just heard from the dealer and my 2710 is going to be delivered tomorrow, so I can look forward to a night without sleep. On my workbench in my barn I have a nice pile of goodies started for my tractor. Extra lights, 50W bulbs, tiltmeter, etc...however I was wondering if I should add a couple of bottles of Slime for the tires. I have R-4's coming on the tractor and I want to avoid having flats. For those of you not familiar with "Slime" it is a product which you add to your tires via the valve stem. Then you refill the tire with air and rotate it or use it for normal use to spread the Slime. Then if a puncture occurs this Slime will seal the puncture up to 1/4 of an inch. I was just curious if anyone else is using it and if it works. I don't have any ballast in my rear tires so that won't be a problem.

RBrown, hope you enjoy your B2710 as much as I have mine. I've never used Slime, but did use another brand of stop leak (Amerseal) in all four tires on my B7100, and my riding lawnmower, and my brother's Kawasaki Mule. However, my B2710 has R1 tires with tubes in the rear ones and I have them filled with water and antifreeze, so I don't have a stop leak in mine now.

Rob:
I was always getting flat tires on my riding mower so I put Slime in them and no more flats.
All the tires (Ags front, turf rear) on my Tractor are filled with water/antifreze so no Slime. I Don't know yet if I'll have a puncture problem but I have a repair kit just in case.

If unaware I just saw a manufacturer of a "slime" type product that is designed for use in liquid filled tires. Good for punctures up to 1/2inch. They're listed in this sites classifieds section.

rbrown,
i am very familiar with slime. it is widely used in the world of mountian bikes. let me tell you that its one of the greatest anti-flat products you can buy. it does a great job on single holes, but if you get a pinch flat (from low tire pressure) or a double puncture you are screwed. once you use slime you cannot patch the tire. the glue will not stick to the rubber. its kind of a catch-22 just keep the pressure up and you will never go flat.
