I've got a 1992 ford 2120 with shuttle shift. The clutch is at the top and engages slow. Hope its not the clutch.Guy I bought it from said it was sitting for awhile.
The clutch should not be gone with those hours use under normal conditions. Have you tried adjusting the free travel on the clutch to about 3/4 inch? Ken Sweet
1993 NH 2120 (the best), 1974 MF 135 (sold, but solid), 1947 Farmall A (bought, sold, bought back, sold again), 1956 MH50 lbt (sold, in 1980, darn it)
You're talking about the physical clutch disc, not the shuttle, right? If you have the EHSS there's a switch for the hydraulic shuttle quick or slow, left side of dash, turtle or rabbit. Turtle feels pretty slow. If not the shuttle, then as said before adjust for free play before anything else.
