New to hydraulics. I have a hydraulic cylinder running off a rear remote on my tractor to rotate the chute on my snow blower. The cylinder acts very quickly when running at PTO speed and I would like to slow it down. How do I slow the speed of the cylinder while maintaining the PTO speed?

The prince flow control only controls (reduces) flow in one direction. If using that type you would need one for each hyd. hose.
There are also flow restrictors available for a lower price. If you are really cheap you can use a washer or disc with different size holes.

On the larger tractors that I run I can just feather the valve control to slowly move a cylinder or gently start a hydraulic motor.
I don't move the lever to the stop unless I'm wanting max speed from the hydraulics.
Can you just gently partially open your remote?

If you are wanting it to move slowly with a fully open remote a restrictor orifice will do the job, just one in one of the hoses will do the job.
A nicer way would be a flow controller returning excess flow to the reservoir.

I just installed a hydraulic restrictor fitting in-line to my grapple. The one I needed was a M/F JIC 3/8 fitting but the OP will have to figure out what they need. The one I bought came with a 1/32" hole already in it. My grapple has a 2" cyl and I found a 1/16" hole is about right (I drilled it out) so a smaller cyl would use a smaller hole. You do not need a restrictor on each hose because it will restrict the oil going in as well as going out. If you install the one restrictor on the rod side of the cyl, it will not be as slow as it is on the rodless end. The reason is the rodless end holds more oil so it takes longer to fill/empty through the restrictor.

Flow restrictors work well on my TnT setup. They do rob power & heat up the oil, but at the duty cycle for TnT or chute management in a blower those factors are pretty much irelevant.
