pto clutch dead?? pul knob does nothing, my son [49] hit a rock and broke a mandrel, right side. replace it and put on new blades, put deck back on , pulled the pto, nothing. i would test the safety switch but the manual only tells me where the cup holder is.

Welcome! PTO clutch wiring and connector is also on right side and poorly protected so it's likely that it can get damaged if debris starts flying around in there. I'd check all of that first. With your model and full serial number, you can usually download the service manual from MTD that has a schematic in the back. Hope one or the other helps!

jay, thanks very much, you got it , wires ripped off, real close to the clutch,i'jj take it off an see if i can get enough to solder to . thanks much jim
