Hi all, been away from the forum for quite some time. Glad to be back however.

My question is with regard to a snowblower for my BX2200. With all the snow I've gotten this year and a new house with a long driveway, my rear blade didn't do me so well and using the bucket took forever. I'd like to pick up a snowblower that is PTO driven and attached to the 3pt hitch. I would love to hear recommendations, keeping in mind the characteristics of the BX series (smaller frame and 3ph).

Do they even make a 48 - 56" blower?

I have a 1993 Loftness 3ph 48" snow thrower on the back of my BX 2350. Loftness over-builds their units and that makes them a bit heavier than competitors. It is a simple and straightforward design and it works well.

When I use it in packed snow, the tractor is about at its limit. With newly fallen snow, not a problem. But that doesn't mean that you ought to turn away from a good 54" or perhaps a bit larger. After your first pass (knowing that you'll have to gnaw away if the initial pack is too heavy), you can then take smaller slices for future passes.

I bought this unit a year ago. When I phoned Loftness for technical information I learned that they built 48" units until 2008. Their smallest unit now is 60". The gear box on the 48" units have been used for decades, it's that good.

If you find a used one in reasonable condition, it might outlast you. Loftness is a great manufacturer and well respected.

Kubota, Frontier, Normand, and many other brands make 48" and up Snow Blowers. Very popular items these days.. :)

I have a NH TZ25 with a Woods SS52 3 point blower. My tractor handles this NO problem!!! AND the snow blower is built like a tank. I live in the snowbelt of lake Erie, so we get snow. My tractor is about 19 HP at the PTO. Good luck...

I am considering a Frontier SB11 64" SNOBLOWER ($2200) and I am trying to budget it and a Frontier or other core aerator ($1700 max) into my budget. If it was one or the other, no problem, I can do it, but I kinda want both. I may end up getting the CORE Aerator now and the the SNOW BLOWER later.

I sold a 48" Yanmar just this last fall so I know someone makes them.

I have a MF GC2300. Essentially the same size as your BX. I used a rear blade & loader bucket the prior 2 years to clear snow. We got our first major snow dump 3 weeks ago. It was drifted waist high infront of the garage where we store the tractor. I couldn't even get the tractor out of the garage. I pulled in, if I had backed in I "may" have been able to dig myself out with the loader. Long story short 5 hours later I cleared our 400 foot drive and 30 x 50 parking area with my little 5 HP 22 inch walk behind snow blower. I worked that poor thing to within an inch of it's life. The very next day I talked to our salesman & got prices for a snowblower. I wanted a Woods, but they couldn't get one for a few weeks. I was able to piggy back on an existing order & picked up a 51 inch Meteor blower. It drifts quite a bit where we live. I believe the inlet housing is 30 inches high. I've had it buried in snow a foot higher than that and It cleared a path. It moved the snow, but it worked the engine. For our sized tractors I wouldn't want to go to 60 inches.
Last thing. It's going to be difficult to find anything this late in the season. Our supplier had sold out of 3pt units. Front mounts ordered now will arrive in August. if you can find one on an equipment dealer's lot don't expect a bargain. BTW, I paid $1,850. It was well worth it
