Tractor
Kubota, Power King
This was my unit for removing snow, until I bought the Kubota, B-2920. I still have the Power King, but it has become my Antique Show Tractor. It is a 1980, 1618, Power King, 18HP single OHV, Kohler K-361 engine. Hyd 3 point hitch, 2 transmissions, in tandem. Both have 3 speeds, and reverse. Don on one of his tractors.jpgPK with snow blade.png100_1430.JPG

That's a classic design and a very handsome machine.

Thank you sir. I like it. We have a large garden and it served us well, until we bought the Kubota B-2920, and we semi-retired the Power King Take a look on you tube, and do a you tube search, (javahjoeo) you can see the Power king in action. (notice the spelling, javahjoeo)

The transmissions have the same gears, and are exactly alike. 1st in both make it very slow. 1st in front tranny, and 2nd in the back tranny move it up. Reverse in front, and 1st in back, slow. Them Reverse in front and 2nd in back, faster, and so on. You need both transmission when using a snow blower and a tiller. These are great tractors, but are not built anymore. They are very collectable in certain parts of the country. Mine is what is called the Long Hood, and or the metal models. The last one's build were "Plastic" (fiberglass) and were not as good a tractor. The plastic model were 4 speed.

Ah, the Power King, formerly known as Economy Tractor. They changed the name so as not to sound cheap. And they weren't cheap! They were over built, except for the easily bent front steering link rod.

My friend's 1969 is still going strong in the woods, though not as capable as a new tractor. I don't recall why they ended up going out of business. Likely a familiar story of large corp beaners buying them up & looting them.

Thanks for the memory!

My 1996 "Plastic" 1620 was HST, and it was a great little tractor, except for the Kohler Magnum engine. Valve guides wore out every 300 hrs. First time was less than a month out of warranty, and Kohler refused to help. Authorized Kohler dealer/repair shop said it was ridiculous to loose the valve guides with that few hours. I'll never own another Kohler.

Attachments weren't exactly quick attach, but not that bad either. Everything used the same mounting points, (so unlike Kubota, no special sub frame for the snowblower that had to be removed to use the FEL, which had it's own sub frame mount that stayed in place no matter what else you were using). MMM used the same mounting point as the snowblower, or the front blade if you had one. Basically just pull 2 pins and slide it off. Each attachment had its own "hitch", and there might be drive belts or controls to hook up, but the mount to the tractor was always through the same point.

If I hadn't moved across the country, I'd probably still be using it. My neighbor bought it and I'm sure he is still using it.

I won't give up my 1971 Economy 2414, had several offers on it, & I wont budge!
I still use it with a 50" belly mower, added a homemade FEL to it several years ago. Only drawback to adding the FEL, was these tractors do not have power steering, so when you have a full load on the front axle, steering becomes a hassle.
But they are small, but mighty!

Shadow99. With the FEL, add a weight box on the rear, and that will help the steering when the front loader is used. I had a FEL, on my 1618 PK, but when I bought the Kubota B-2920, w/loader, I didn't see the need to have two loaders. I sold the loader for more than I had in the tractor. I wish I had a Pasquali. I like that tractor. javahjoe, MIO, P K Junky, aka Don

I do have a homemade weight box consisting of about 500 lbs of steel scrap. Without power steering, trying to turn the machine out of a tight space, was an arm wrestling match with the manual steering. The FEL was a homemade fabrication as well, & was constructed on the machine. So my only option would be to cut it off. I still use it all summer to cut grass, I love it for that!
But for real heavy work, nothing beats the maneuverability & horsepower of the Pasquali ! I get a lot of stares from folks driving by, they haven't seen an Italian, air-cooled 30hp 2cyl diesel, articulating tractor running on 15.5x15x31" tires. Sips fuel, just like my 2414 Economy (1 lung'er Kohler).
