Hi Guys,
My L series has Industrial type tires with a ton of life left on them. They are calcium filled. Lately I have noticed at least 1 or 2 small wet spots in the low areas between the treads on one of the tires. It does not appear lower than the other tire at all and the spot is usually the size of a nickle or smaller. Just wet on the tire surface, not dripping/running down to the ground or anything. Today the one I noticed had what looked like a tiny cut in the middle of it. Not sure what could have caused this, I do work in the woods with it often so perhaps a sharp stick or rock got in there? Does this sound possible? Should I get this plugged or just leave it alone or what? Not sure how I would even bring this tire anywhere because I imagine it weighs at least 500 pounds loaded and once I take it off the tractor, I have nothing to load it into the pickup with! Thanks

I just went out and looked it over again. The right one has a small pin hole size spot that gets wet, you can see the small little tear there. The left side tire looks wet around the bead.. Maybe from the hot/humid weather we are having? Nothing else is sweating though. Both tires look normal hardness/height. The tires appear to have tubes because the valve stems are threaded with a nut on the outside. I suppose if I remove them from the tractor, I could roll them by hand up a ramp into my truck. I believe they are filled with calcium chloride. It is a brightish white liquid in them.

A farm service tire shop will have a truck that will come to you and pump out the fill, repair or replace the tube put a boot in the tire and refill the tire.
It's not cheap but not much more then if you haul it in yourself, the joy of fluid filled tires.
Also if it is calcium you should get the rim washed off really good as it is corrosive.
I just looked up an L3400, if it's an 11.2-24 it might be cost effective taking it in as compared to having a tire service truck come out.

You better get some help if you take it off yourself, heavy is an understatement.. And will hurt you..

I think they are 15-19.5R4 size

I was thinking since my tractor has a backhoe attachment on it, I can use the stabilizers to jack the rear tires off the ground safely and then use the backhoe to load the rims/tires into my pickup truck without hurting my back or anything!

A friend looked at my tires and said he thinks that I don't have tubes and that the metal valve stems with nuts are "fill tubes" he called them.. Would it be safe to use automotive jack stands (the large size ones) to support the tractor while the wheels are off at the shop?

I would get rid of the calcium chloride and refill with a better fluid that will not ruin your rims.

15-19.5 is correct for R4 tires. If they are filled with calcium with no tubes I would get them off and cleaned before remounting them.
Depending on how long they have been filled that way you might be in for some wire brushing and paint while the tires are off.
