Yeah, the loader on my big IH2500b is very slow while the loader on my little PT425 is very fast. Both in lift and dump/curl modes. The little one is so fast that you can flick landscape timbers 8' to 10' feet out in front of you with the forks. The little PT425 can out-maneuver and out haul the much larger tractor when it comes to moving large amount of loose material, as it can move 3-4 times faster than the big tractor.
However, when it comes to brute force, the big tractor could squash it like a bug. While the little tractor did tear a hole in my siding when I bumped into the garage, I fear the large tractor would have knocked the building off its foundation. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
There are lots of things that determine the loader speed. Hydraulic pressure, GPM, cylinder size, etc... as was mentioned by others.
