Anyone using a pull behind mower for their small pasuture shredding? 2.5 - 3.0 acres, very clean, no brush. THinking DR model or the tractor supply offering.

I use a Swisher T44 trailmower behind my atv on some steep portions of my pastures that are unsafe with my tractor. It takes time but it works well. I just set it to it's tallest cutting height to take care of some tall weeds and tall grass areas that are going to seed. They also make a Trailcutter if you have more brush and small saplings to deal with.http://www.swisherinc.com/t44_trailmower.asp

I have a Agri-Fab brush mower with a 12.5hp Briggs engine, pull start. Its a lot like the swisher.

I pull it behind my Suzuki Vinson. No problem whatsoever.

I use it along a narrow path we have between the farm land and trees. The path winds through the tress and is about 3 miles long and 6 feet in width. Due to the tree branches getting the tractor in there would be a pain.

I've had it 3 years and have about 250 hours in use.

I can't say enough good things about how its performed. It has needed some small stuff like broken bolts and a new belt. However, the design is pretty simple and repairs are not difficult (otherwise I couldn't make the fix).

I highly recommend getting one to use whenever the tractor can't fit or the job is simple enough.
