I finally decided to build a skid steer type design, I've spend months hanging out in a scaled tank site and got the idea of how to build a belt driven transmission that will run a small skid steer vehicle, not for real work but - to just be building it. lol I bought a mig gaseless welder, & I ordered lotts of parts, a 6.5 engine. pulleys. sprockets, chain & Tires, pillow block bearings, axles..and angle iron ectt..and drill bits, lol so here i go. I'm taking pics and will upload them .

Will your belt transmission be similar to what the Struck Mini dozers have?

The belt transmission drive unit is in a wood frame right now I'll move it to a metal frame when i mount in in the skid steer frame. I still have more parts to buy, more nuts and bolts, the belts for the pulleys, metal to build the sides, the load arms. and bucket. and cab, seat, ectt , i need a small hydraulic unit to raise and lower./tilt/ scoop the bucket. cylinders, ectt , hoses, control levers, fittings. lol i may change the belt drive to hydraulic later. it's fun to just build the thing lol

It looks good, one concern is the frame not being heavy enough, i'm not sure what you're gonna do with it, but i would build the frame out of square tubing or at least channel. I'm afraid your frame is gonna twist like krazy, i'm just going with my gut reaction on this, i may be wrong. I like the build, can't wait to see your progress.

I agree, I will get 2 x 4" x 1/4" rectangular tubing and re do the frame.(welded ) the 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 1/8" angle iron is too weak. ( as you can look closer the frame is bolted together ) it is a test frame to make sure it will drive ( work )

Whew! I was afraid you may get mad, i was only trying to help. 1/4" tubing will be a lot better. Can't wait to see what its gonna look like.
