Small tractors with A/C

This is a down the road question. I own a NH1720 (28 Horsepower) now and love it. But down the road I can see were a cab would come in handy and since it has a cab I would like A/C. What would be the smallest tractor horsepower that would support A/C? The 1720 frame size is great and would like something relative to that size if possible. I would be using the tractor for brush hogging, snow removal and sugaring etc. Thanks for any input.

Automotive AC can take upwards of 20HP. Compressor draw + the amperage load on alternator. Some tractor guru's say add 10 hp to tractor purchase requirements.

As a practical matter if you are taxing the tractor capacity now with big bush hogs etc you probably will not like the performance. If you run small light implements the RPM drop may not be as irritating.

I do not notice any loss of power because of the a/c. Remember the torque of a diesel is generally 3-4 times the horsepower and the torque of a gas engine is about equal to the HP. I would allow 3-5HP extra at the max for a diesel tractor.

Wouldn't it be a lot cheaper just to work naked?

AC in a tractor?

I've AC on our 67 hp Benz diesel. Main thing you notice with the AC on is slower acceleration through the gears. Otherwise, you hardly know it's running.
