Bheng, my maid in the Philippines back in the mid 80's ($40.00 a month) just found us on facebook. She is now married and living in Osaka Japan. Glad to see she is living a good life.

That's pretty neat... I don't do facebook or anything else... TBN is really all I do... and the wife thinks that's too much! I have gotten e-mails from a couple old friends out of the blue... good to touch base once in a while.

I was against Facebook at first, but now that I've given it a try, I think it's probably the best thing out there. I use it for keep up with friends, sharing pictures and networking new jobs.

When I hiked the AT, coming up Mount Mitchell in NC, I came across a gentleman with his wife who were looking for yellow slippers (flower). Turns out this gentleman was on the town council with my father in Pennsylvania.

One time at a restaurant in Mexico, I sat across from the daughter of a man who I worked with at a knitting mill while I was in high school (being the only two Americans at this restaurant, it was easy to start a conversation).

Living in West Virginia, I became friends with a girl whose sister was the best friend of my "first love".

Out in Utah, came across a man wearing a "black river" hat (from New York). Turns out I use to raft guide with his cousin in West Virginia (I use to boat with the same cousin in NY as well).

Live and travel long enough, and you will indeed find that it is a small world.

I've got too much of my father in me. I just figure if I want to "keep up" with you, I'll take the time to either call or visit

While in the navy worked the flight deck of an aircraft carrier. I went T.A.D. to another carrier for training. I was walking acrossed the deck of this new carrier and seen my last name, which is a very uncommon name, across the back of another guys float coat! It turned out to be my cousin from Michigan. I didn't even know he joined the navy let alone doing the exact same job I was doing and working the same catapult I worked! It is a small world indeed.

I pulled into an interstate rest stop about 400 miles from home and the car that I parked beside belonged to a co-worker that had retired 5 years earlier. We had a good chat and back on the road we went.

As a child I watched Soupy Sails on TV and then later as an adult I saw him at the next table in the bar at the airport in Richmond , Va. he was having a Martini and looked real old...small world but I was shattered...:laughing:
