Backhoe Smallest tractor for a Bush hog 950 backhoe?

I know the manual states recommended HP range of 55 to 100 for the Bush hog 950 backhoe, but I was wondering based on real world experience from folks what the smallest tractor that has been successfully used with this hoe? I would think weight/frame size of tractor would make a bigger difference than HP as long as you have the hydraulic flow to power the hoe.

I have a BH 750 on a NH TC30. Even with loaded tires it can still move it around quite handily. I would think with the 950 you'd want a heavy tractor.

Mine is hooked to the tractor hydraulics and it works just fine running at 1200 rpm's. Especially at my skill level. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif Don't forget about transporting the hoe. I don't know the specs on the 950 but I bet it's heavy. You're going to need some tractor weight to move it.

Hopefully some one with a 950 will chime in.

I've got a Woods 9000 on a Ford 2120 (40hp). I guess the Bush hog is a 9 and a half foot digging depth. The rear tractor casting will see some tremendous forces even when using a sub frame. I can lift my front end by hooking the bucket under a stump. The tractor and BH weight #7600 so I can't imagine an even larger BH on a smaller tractor. Why such a large hoe?

A few miles from me there's a 950 sitting at the end of a driveway with a for sale sign on it. I haven't called to ask how much yet, but I am pretty sure it's too big for my JD 3520 anyway. But, if someone comes back and tells me they're running the large hoe on a midframe tractor -- I would be at least tempted to find out how much they are asking.
