Hi
New here so hope I am doing this right
I have inherited a 1954 TEA 28 Ferguson.
It starts and runs well, has plenty of power but is very smokey both when idling or under power.
We turned it over with the starting handle and it seems to have lots of compression on every cylinder
Showing my age but many years ago I had a Vanguard which did the same thing and it turned out to be the little rubber thingys over the inlet valves.
The other thing is it has a new radiator and the paint is flaking off the rocker cover so might have been run very hot at some stage.
I presume if it is rings then they will all be standard but am wondering about that as it still has good compression and plenty of power so unlikely to have just cooked the oil rings.
So.....does anyone have any ideas?
Looks simple enough to work on compared to my hi tech sewing machine so might take the head off anyway.
Thank you
