Does anyone have an opinion on what brand and or model of tracked skidsteer would give the smoothest ride while mowing bumpy fields at high speed ?

I know you said skidsteer, and you said bumpy fields, high speed. For me that doesnt all go together. I know you have reasons for doing this with a skidsteer, but I would think a tractor/bushhog would be faster, easier ride and just better on the butt vs a skidsteer. I have both and the tractor is my choice
Good Luck on your choice

That's easy. The ASV SR80 and PT80.

I would have to say the older ASV 4810, it rides much better then my supertrak 287B and TL 150 Takeuchi. It has more track on the ground i think then the new machines, sort of like a long track dozer, but it will not go as fast and are out dated.

On the other hand, the takeuchi is probably the roughest riding tracked loader with the metal on metal rubber style tracks.

Thanks all for the responses. Willis from my little experience with track type skidsteers they are a different animal than wheel type skidsteers the boggy wheels seem to smooth out the bumps. Or am I wrong on this? I would never consider a regular skidsteer for this application.
Thanks again all.

The SR/PT80 is smoother than the 297C. I have operated both and the ASV machine was smoother, and faster. I think it is because about 80% of the 297C is oriented toward the rear of the machine. This is because it is based off of the 272C skid chassis. CAT moved more weight to the rear to produce a skid with over 3,000lbs ROC (previously their largest skid-262B had an ROC of 2750lbs with counterweights). You can feel all of the weight in the rear when you drive the machine (297C) turning or going up a small hill.

Thats cool , I thought they had the same tracked suspension systems..But didnt think about the weight /center of gravity thing...Anything is smoother than my machine i think...

Your 257 is smoother than any of the nonsuspended machines out there. I have that same undercarriage on my RC50 and I sold hundreds of Bobcats over 8 years (over 200 track loaders from the first 864s to the T300s). Trust me.
