sn grease (cartridge style)

anyone know if any of the chain retailers are selling ( stocking) a syn grease. I'm looking for a few tubes and don't feel like driving to napa, tsc, car quest, and 5 other stores just to look, if someonemay already know of a place selling it. I'd call.. but most of the counter people are morons around here.. sadly...

The last time that I bought a snythetic grease it was "SynPower" Valvoline at Advance Auto Parts about $5.00 a tube. As it turns out, I quit using synthetic grease because it won't wipe off or clean up like ordinary grease. Some say that's what's good about synthetic grease...i.e. it stays where you put it. Well, I can't deny that.

reminds me of heat sink compound grease... never comes out of your clothes.. hard to get off yer skin..

I've seen the Mobil 1 grease at Autozone, but its not always there. So thats no help to you.

However, a much better synthetic grease that is speced by Dresser/Roots for blower bearings is Mobil SHC 100. Its a full synthetic grease, NLGI 2, Lithium Complex, ISO 100. A bit expensive at $11 per tube. Great for bearings, but I guess it depends on what you plan on using this grease for. Availible through Grainger.

thanks guys. my application will be low volume.. so even if I did have to pop 10-11$ for a tube.. it would be fine.

I use the Valvoline SYN Power synthetic grease, get it at my local Napa, $5.99 a tube, :thumbsup:. KC

Advance Auto Parts may be your best bet for local, they have Mobil 1 and Valvoline in synthetic..
