I'm trying to get some idea's on building some kind of wind and snow protection when I am plowing snow. Nothing too involved. I thought about hanging something from the canopy on each side like clear plastic or something but that would just blow around. There has to be some way of doing this without costing allot. I just want to keep the wind and snow off of me when plowing.

I only had one tractor with a cab, but it was a huge pain more than a help. Constantly hit my head upon exits. However, my brother built a decent cab for one of his tractors. 2x4s for the frame, and plexi-glass. That is the route I think you should take.

Go to NORTHERN TOOL and look at the golf cart weather enclosures. They were just discussed on a recent thread. Priced less than a 100. Let us know if you go that route.

Best way I found was to go to your local upholstery company and ask them if they'd make a cab for you. That's what I did and it works beautifully and is relatively easy to put on and off. With the top you already have on your machine, it should be fairly easy to make. Eisenglass on the sides for clear lines of sight and heavy duty zippers make it easy for in and out. My upholstery guys loved doing it as it's something different ,and they had me bring the tractor right into their garage and had it done in a week. I had one on a previous tractor and I'd never move snow without it. Well worth the money and keeps you warm and out of the wind.

I'm looking for something temporary and cheap. I thought about plexiglass. It doesn't have to seal off the seating area, just dampen the wind.

I'll have to check that out. I like south nh thoughts also . Just some thing simple and removable.

I went with wood an plexi and thick black felt fabric from fabric store.......covers all of one side and left half of driver door side because driver side uses half door that swings up to get in on typical door hinges. Keeps me out of wind .

If you have a boat canvas installer in your area;they should be able to fab up a nice enclosure. It may cost a little but should last quite a while.

Full Face snowmobile helmet, worked great for me with open station snowblowing.

I like that idea... something you could roll up and velcro up to the canopy. If they could be zipped together when deployed... awesome I would think for the money invested. My concern would the the clarity of the front panel if it is flexible plastic vs. hard plexiglass. My :2cents:
