How many of you that have the PT snow blade have the wheel kit for it? And how well does it work?

I have the wheels and they work fine. Where they really work well is in grass or gravel areas. I currently do not have the wheels on the plow and I scalped the heck out of my lawn in a few places. I buried the solid wheels in my garage as they are on my brush hog. I will have to dig them out again.

You have to remember, when I bought the plow in 2001, the wheels were standard, not an option for more $$.

There are some videos of them in action on my PT425. Just click on my little animate tractor in my signature. That takes you to my website. Click on the videos link and there are plow videos there. Hope they help you.

Plow video 4 really shows them the best. I put down pressure on the blade to scrape the asphalt. Then, I rock the blade back onto the wheels because there is a crushed limestone pad to the left of the video. The wheels keep the blade an inch or two above the crushed limestone while the FEL arms are in FLOAT. It just follows the terrain, independent of the tractor that way. I use that method to clear a path over my lawn back to my woodpiles behind the garage.

Is there a special program needed to view your video, when I try to view it a black screen is all that shows up. I am considering either wheels or shoes on my snow blade as my drive is all gravel and if I take it down the whole way in the spring a lot of the gravel is in my lawn next to the driveway. Last year I slit a piece of pvc pipe and put it over the bottom of the blade which worked fine but the gravel wore it very fast .

No. They are just windows media player files. Try right clicking on one of the videos and downloading it to a place on your PC, then open it from there. That usually does it.

Thanks MR that worked. How does the wheel kit mount to the blade pictures and measurements would be very helpful? I thought about trying to make brackets to mount it to the blade as I have extra wheels that came with my pt1845.
I had it out earlier today plowing snow (only about 4 inches of powder snow) and took a lot of the gravel off the driveway which I would like to avoid doing.

If your plowing the same level driveway all the time you may be able to adjust the wheel height and make the plow work. I have two of the plows, one with wheel kit and one without. I plow about a dozen drives of differing terrain and neither plow works well for one simple reason. They don't oscillate so when you change the angle one end is higher than the other and it's almost impossible to keep the whole blade on the ground without one end digging. You can keep leveling the plow by changing the tilt but than the wheel kit becomes worthless because they are ether off the ground or they are holding the blade higher than you want it to be. Seems PT could improve the plow pretty easily by mounting it similar to the mowers so it would oscillate.

I'm pretty sure mine is welded on. On a couple of the other videos it shows how the plow angles and quick disconnects. Perhaps there is a view of it there. Not sure. Can't get to the videos right now. :)

Maybe it is because my driveway is flat, but I never have problems with the angles. If I am plowing straight forward, I just float the FEL arms and tilt or curl until the blade just touches the asphalt. If I angle right I do the same thing, then go. Same for angle left.

It is true that if you tilt or curl the blade while it is angled one corner will raise and one corner will fall, but once it is set it is pretty consistent.

Have you tried playing with the spacers for the caster height adjustment? I keep mine with only one spacer above and the rest below the tube for maximum height.
