looking to get better control on my snow blower. TC is an 05 and it has bummed me to always have to use the rocker switches on the consol. was thinking of getting a hand held controller for a snow plow. NT has them for about $100. looks like it would be some simple wiring to splice in the controller to allow shoot up/down and left/right.
anyone here have thoughts on this????
thanks in advance, Mike

Interesting idea, but it would be even nicer to be able to control all of it from the joystick.

I think paralleling the rocker switches (but not the wiper switch) with some sort of "other kind" of momentary switch might be worth trying but I'd be very careful since killing a controller can be pretty spendy from what I hear. (This statement assumes that the rockers simply supply voltage levels to the controller.)

the switches that move the left right discharge and up down shoot seem to simply be momentary switches. the same applies to the hand held controller for snow plows so im pretty confident that they will do the trick. at least you can move about with this controller and not have to constantly look down.
DEWFPO I believe that the newer machines do address this and have controls on the joy stick. im an old school machine, 2005, so I don't have the luxury.

mine looks like this. it attaches to joy stick. uses 12 vilt signal to control hydraulic chute motors for left, right, up and down. good controller view.jpg

Update: Yes, the three switches are all operated as DPST (momentary config) and they go to the display controller only...at least according to my "D" service manual. Voltage input to the switches is 12v. The switches may actually be DPDT (momentary) where only half the switch is used.

I would think, on off on is dpdt as both sides of the switch would be used. not an engineer but I did stay at a holiday in select last night.
that being said im going to give it a try and see what happens.
GRSTHGREAT nice idea for mounting. will look at that also when I get the controller in. would sure be nice to do it all "one handed"
