Hello: Is there a front-end snow-blower for a 2012 New Holland Boomer 3040? The machine has a NH bucket on it now. I've been told that getting that bucket off would be too much work--that I should mount on a off brand blower on the rear PT and back the tractor through the 1/4 mile of drifted snow to clear it, and, also, that an NH does not make a blower for a 3040. Is this true? If there is a snow-blower, how much trouble is it to take of the bucket and install the snow-blower? All knowledgeable suggestions appreciated. Many thanks! CJ

Welcome to TBN :welcome:. Being in Texas we don't blow much snow. I have the 3040's previous model, the TC40DA. As far as taking off the bucket it's just knocking out 4 pins. Grease them up good and make sure the bucket is on a flat and level surface so the last pin won't bind up. Power to the FEL mounted blower is a different matter. Unless you have a mid PTO, it's a factory option only, you either need a hydraulic power pack for the PTO or run a long driveshaft from the back. The stock hydraulic pump will not run the blower, not enough flow.
I changed my FEL over to skid steer quick attach or SSQA, QA for short. Here is the thread. If you want to switch out attachments it's the only way to go.

case has a front blade, snow blower, broom. all mount on a sub frame. the broom and blower require a mid mount pto. I dont know if the sub frame is compatable with a loader attachment. BM 184H is the blade number. I dont remember what the newholland number is. lt190b

A lot is going to depend on your wallet.
The other issue is whether you have a hydro 3040 or a gear 3040
A rear mounted blower with an extended chute and a Bercomac soft cab will set you back
less money than a front mounted hydraulic drive snow blower with power pack and tank
mounted in the three point hitch.
If you have a mid point power take off you can purchase a
Pronovost front mount kit three point hitch rear snow blower
to mount it up front. but a rear mount and a Bercomac soft cab
with a chute extension will cost you less money.
If you do not have a mid PTO you can forget a Pronovost front mounting kit
UNLESS YOU ccan afford to have the dealer install a mid PTO KIT.
You will be money ahead trading for a larger mule with an all season cab and a high
output alternator for work lights.
Thanks. Think I'll look into a larger unit. Have an older Ford 3000 with bucket front and cumbersome snow blower in the rear that I put on each fall. Had my share of stiff painful necks. Between the rear PTO 3040 and the 2000 I should be able to find something else that will work out. Age is not a factor but dependability is.
