I just bought a new Allied Blower and I saw "maybe" here that you should spray the inside of the spout, fan and housing with a lubricant. What are those of you using and how often does it need to be repeated? I wasn't sure if I should use slip plate #5 which is a graphite based or a spray silicone product. I want to start out doing things right to protect the parts. Scaper

The idea of spraying the inside of the blower for increased performance can get old fast for the small difference that it might make.

Keeping it full of snow is the best way to keep a blower blowing it's greatest distance and getting the least on you!

To keep them from getting rusty would be my main concern as that would be the biggest hinderence to it working right.

You should keep the gears and chains lubricated but otherwise the list goes on as to what might make a blower blow better!

If you don't want to spray each time you go out, you will need to use Fluid Film. 1 or 2 sprays will get you through the winter.

I agree that it being full of snow is the best bet, but when you get slush near the road and have to stop and back up- that is the time for it to clog.

Delaware being down there in the tropics, the ground surface is often thawed just enough so you are pumping grit along with the snow & slush. That rubs off any protectant in the first 5 minutes. It also shines off any rust so its a toss-up. If you coat the the inside the chute will last about 20 years. If not it will last a couple decades.
