This year I decided to buy a snowblower, a 51" Meteor, to help clear the driveway, a little, actually a lot, faster. It works great, much faster than the bucket and rear blade. However, I would like to be able to tilt the snowblower down a little bit so that I can scrape closer to the pavement. Right now, I leave more snow on the driveway than I want. It has the non-adjustable shoes on it. Can I adjust the "top point" (I don't know what the technical term is) of my tractor's hitch so that it can angle front of the blower down or is that not going to have the effect I want. Or will I damage something in the process? Thanks for any input and I would recommend a snow blower to anyone that is on the fence about purchasing. I used the bucket and rear blade for three winters and this is much faster, not as clean but definitely faster.

There is a cutting edge in the blower that should scape the pavement lightly. If you have gravel you would want to not scrape until a layer of hardpacked snow covers the gravel.
Adjustment is as you said. Adjust the toplink. Shorter to tilt the blower back until the cutting edge just or almost touches the ground.
