I just realized we are ALMOST out of the woods here (but my wife reminds me of the blizzard of 94). I have only used my tractor to clean the driveway twice. Not too bad at all! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I would have NO problem if not one more flake fell from now through the end. This morning I saw a robin. Yesterday I saw a cardinal. I can definitly hear that the birds are arriving back in town.

Thank you God for a mild winter! Time to start thinking of buying a tiller! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I've seen a few cardinals already no robins yet. Let someone else have the snow, I'm ready to mow.

HEY, I just got a good sized tractor WITH a FEL. I WANT to get hammered with about 30 inches /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif One of the reasons to get SWWBO on board with a payment was snow removal!!!!!!!!!!! All that and I like snow.

And the other downside, with no hard freeze stand by for ticks. A good hard freeze seems to kill some of them off. A nice warm winter makes them breed.

I hate ticks.......... I really hate ticks........... I'll take 2 weeks of bitter freezing cold over pulling bloodsuckers off me, the kids, the wife, and the dog. Freeze me.

I went well into January before it was necessary to get the driveway cleared of snow. Strange weather this year. Even the snow belts are struggling.

In some places in NY the only income they get is from winter sports. Gotta be hard

What???

Rogue,

We are just a few miles south of you...we have cardinals feeding all winter long...never thought they left for the winter...do they?

Sounds like you need to put out a bird feeder! Have not seen a robin yet this year though... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

r0GuE,

I hope you're right!

I've been seeing four pairs of cardinals on the bird feeder ever since the snow in January, but I have only seen robins on the lawn for about a week.

I did that a couple years ago. Have fun! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I've considered the bird feeder thing before, but have never done so yet. We have a cardinal that goes somehere every winter (South?), and returns to the same pine each year with his mate. The thing I think is most interesting is that I can hear millions of birds in the woods accross the road. They ARE here. It IS all but over.

I'm ready for some downpours to wash all the salt away and some warm weather so I can fix my chimney cap (hopefully before it falls in). /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
