Snow Plow Chained to FEL bucket- would it work?

I have used my Kioti CK20 TLB for clearing snow off the driveway and parking area the last two winters. Prior to the owning the tractor I would shovel any snow by hand(usually takes 4+ hours). The driveway is all concrete. Probably 350' long with a large parking area by the house. We don't get much snow in the winter. A few times per winter we will get 6-10". Usually it is a wet snow.

Last winter when we got hit with a snow storm I didn't look forward to shoveling the snow and figured the FEL would be slow going. I cobbled together a quick and dirty snow pusher out of 2X10's that bolts into the bucket. Surprisingly, it stood up through all of last year and the first couple of snowfalls this year. Of course the last two snowfalls this week have started to wear on it....

I have found a deal on a 7' snow plow blade only(no mounts). Would it be possible to chain the blade right to the bucket opening for use this winter?

My workshop is a mess and won't be back in working order until probably summer time when I go on vacation. Long term I would like to fab up a mount to pin it directly to the loader arms in place of the bucket.

I would guess if the board snow pusher worked for you, so would just the blade attached to the bucket. Not sure how you would chain it, but I think if you do a search on this forum, you might find threads on just a blade attached to the FEL.

Yes, the guy next door has used a setup like that for years. And old fisher plow with frame ratchet strapped to the bucket. It sticks out pretty far, so you have to plan your turns, but his driveway is long and straight, so it works very well for him.

Give it a whirl and see what happens..just go slow also might be good idea to use float pos.

I welded a couple of tabs into the back of my bucket to pin a truck blade in. Works great but very long rig.

Can you mount it to the frame of the tractor and lift it with a chain attached to the bucket? A wise old welder near here has his John Deere set up that way.

My loader bucket was attached with 4 pins that go thru and large E-clips snapped over the ends. I replaced them with 4 1" pull pins I picked up at Tractor Supply.
I also have a 7 1/2' plow blade that I welded brackets on. Now if I want to use the plow I pull the 4 pins, remove the bucket, and attach the plow blade using the same pins. This is probably similar to what you want to do.
You could chain it or use turnbuckles. I tried that but didn't like it. The plow stuck out too far in front of the bucket to suit me.

I am all for spending another persons' money :laughing::laughing::laughing: but why don't you just build the snow pusher bigger and better? You could always add a metal bolt on strip of metal and put a reversable rubber wear strip on it.

I would love to see a pic of the old setup since I am debating getting a blower or a loader (but not both...) to move snow. Not to hijack the thread but what is the most snow you could push/

You could take plow and mount on 3pt hitch in back.
