Well, I just mounted my plow to the front of my bucket. For those more experienced, anything I should anticipate for problems? It's easier to fix or tweak now while it is still warm out.

Looks really good. How thick is the steel where the plow mounts to? That would me my only concern in that a lot of force will be pushing back on the bucket on those two points. I custom made my plow mount, but used a blank quick attach plate that was 1/2" thick to mount the plow to. Do you have the hydraulic lines hooked up to your rear remotes (assuming you have them). I used my plow manually for a season, and switching the plow manually left to right was a big pain. For $50 I was able to get everything hooked up so I could control it from the seat.

Bring on the snow!

That's an interesting approach. I'm gonna try using just my bucket with a snow edge but if that doesn't work out so well I'll ditch the bucket will start shopping for a front mounted blade that will work with a skid steer attach. That is if it ever snow enough here again to do anything.

I thought about that. I don't have rear remotes, however I am thinking of installing quick connects at the buckets hydraulic fitting and just using that for my left and right control. Not sure though.

I just have to wonder about traction with all that weight that far forward of the drive axle. I see the chains in the pics. Are rear tires loaded also? Will you be leaving the mower on the back for counter weight?

I have been concerned about that too. There is about 800# of fluid in tires and I will have an 8' back blade I plan to have mounted so I don't have to use the plow near the garage. Plus, the front plow will be on the ground when pushing so that should help.

Usually you want the blade to "float" a couple of inches below the bucket. You could probably do that buy lengthening the chains. It looks like your blade and bucket are at the same level at ground level. If thats a 7 foot blade, you may need to consider adding another trip spring or the blade will be tripping all the time, you'll see if thats the case when snow come's but something to consider. I've had a similar setup and you'll find it's nice to push back the snow way up on those snow banks with that setup. You'll also want to lower those shoes at the beginning of the season until the gravel freeze's or you'll end up moving allot of that stone unintentionally.
