I also run an old Myers 6' plow that I had welded to a skid steer type q/a plate. The plow frame ears were it would attach to a truck were cut off and boxed in just past were the plow rotates (to bring it closer to the FEL mount) and it has a manual angle with a pin. The manual angle is a bit of a pain but I mainly keep it straight and not angled when plowing anyway.
This is my first season using it and I even used it to clear the main road of snow and debris when we had the October Nor'Easter here and it worked great. We had close to a foot of very heavy wet snow and the blade and GL3240 handled it fine
That was actually the first real test of it.
The only issue with angling the blade and using front chains is it could put a heavy side load on the FEL frame that it was not designed for. I think I would rather have the tractor slide a little then damage the FEL frame myself. That is the main reason that I do not angle the blade much when plowing snow as it keeps the forces similar to using a bucket.
