Snow Plow Skid or Shoes, How To?

Anyone done a snowplow skid shoe placement?
Ordered a snow plow/skid steer dozer blade and there are no skids on it. From the comment section of seller, reviewers stated they had to put one on.
Have had Fisher plows, never liked the skid shoes, anyone happy with other skids?

I use these Western plow shoes on all my blades. They are similar to the Fisher and usually don't last more than a season or two on gravel. They're cheap enough though so I keep a couple around as spares. If I shop around, I can usually find them for less than $45 a pair.

For blades without mounting brackets, I use a piece of 4" channel iron with 1" holes drilled through the sides. I weld it to the back outer edge of the blade frame just above the cutting edge.

Keep in mind that skid shoes only work on hard surfaces: concrete, asphalt, or frozen ground/gravel. They are worthless if you are plowing a gravel road that isn’t frozen.

I don't use shoes or skids once gravel driveway frozen does cleaner job.

In my mind skid shoes aren't perfect but they are far from useless on unfrozen gravel. Here is 9" of wet snow on soft gravel. Yes, I turn over a little gravel but nothing like a bare blade. A bare blade would tripping over constantly. When it is soft I stay inside the road edge so the gravel stays on the road.
