Ok, getting covered with snow with the 47 blower, how would the 45 FEL work?

I have always used a FEL before I got hurt, and my wife will end up doing most of this but the blower shuts off in reverse, its VERY messy...
Thoughts?

Yes, less snow will blow on you with a FEL. Or get a cab. Or get her a snowmobile helmet to wear while using the blower.

Isn't there a switch to pull out before backing up in order to keep the blower running. There should be.

My wife drove mine last year through a couple snowy months and didn't have a problem blowing snow. The snow-blower, I would think, would be easier for her than the FEL.

Also she could tilt the chute way down and not much will be flying around.

I dont like re-snowblowing if the chute is low, The PTO does shut off as soon as you go in reverse.. Can you confirm its supposed to?> is this a safety feature? Thanks!

Yep, that's a "Lawyer Switch" called a RIO (Reverse Implement Operation) Switch. A lot of people, myself included disable them by disconnecting the switch and putting a jumper wire on the wire harness side.

What's the big deal if she has to re-blow a little snow. It's easy anyway with a machine like yours. Using a FEL, I seem to be handling snow a lot more.

Set the chute a little higher just to get it past the edge of the driveway and not 40' in the air to where the wind catches it. I have to turn mine down in a couple areas because of the way the wind whips around. But, if I can, I like to see it blow 60' in the air

I guess we have both been used to sitting 4 feet in the air and a good size bucket and not getting anywhere near the snow ( JD 990, 300CX FEL)

:thumbsup:I got a pair of ski goggles with fog proof eye glass. They work great in the blowing snow of winter and the flying dust of summer when mowing in the field behind the house.
