All depends on your time and your wallet and how much time you want in the seat.
The problem with most of the is the open cross auger and the fact that 99 percent of
them are two stage units.
The biggest problem they have is that the cross augers do not cut into the snow pile
with a tooth edged closed or open cross auger or a single stage toothed edge solid
ross auger to cut into the snow pile.
Most all the front mounts have impeller fans that are very small where any rear
mount has a larger diameter impeller fan.
you compensate for this by traveling slower feeding the impeller fan less
snow and throwing the snow further. if the cross augers were solid
with four inch flights this would not be an issue.
Even a used
BX1860 -2360 with a new 5 foot rear snow caster from Allied/Farm King or Pronovost
would work well as the impeller fan will be larger.
The only down side of a wider rear snow caster is simply that you would have to travel a little slower.
we have many members with rear mounts that just twist in the seat and use their left foot for the reverser
and when they let go of the pedal the snow blower acts like an anchor and the tractor stops.
