Here in Northern VA they are calling for 20 to 30 inches, I suspect that many of us east coasters will be pushing snow most of the weekend should be all cleaned up and ready to kick back and watch the superbowl.

Have fun and be safe:)

I'm takin' off work early friday to get home so I can keep up. Here in the mountains, the hills make it a little more cumbersome. I saw a lit sign on I-66 "avoid traveling friday and saturday due to inclement weather." Just my kind of adventure:D.

There were rumors of 45"+. I don't know, but a coworker plows snow with his truck for a company that sends him accumulation predictions, and they are usually on the mark. The prediction for some places were 45 inches+. He showed me the email they sent him, and it had a weather map with an area that showed 12-24", and in the center 45"+, and flooding down in south easter VA, and eastern NC. The part that said 45+ had a note that said "paralyzing accumulation". Maybe that's where those rumors came from. Guess we'll know by sunday morning.

Yeah, my poor ol' red beast has been sitting for a couple weeks now.... Looking at the weather this AM, it looks like central Atlantic states are going to get hammered! Be careful and enjoy your seat time!

I feel sorry for the folks in SW Virginia (Roanoke) that may get as much as 3/4'' of ice. I'm like a kid when it comes to snow, but never look forward to a power outage...

Part of my justification in buying the BX2660 in 2008 was to clear my 1/4 mile driveway and neighbors private gravel road. It hardly left the garage last year, managed to get out and help close a swimming pool, move mulch, mow, drag some downed trees, etc... but the total hours were only 50 the first year.

But this winter - WOW. 24" in December, 8" last week, and now we are expecting another 24". That is a LOT of seat time, lovin it.
I learned from December to not wait until it is finished. I plan on making the first pass late today when there is probably 8-10".

I've been watching the LED Light thread and wish I had installed reat lights so I can see the blade. Oh well, another future addition.

Only suppose to get around 3 to 6 inches here, but hey, that's enough to get OC, (Orange Crush), out and play! I will be working with using the float option on my FEL. I am interested to see how this works.

That same storm wont come closer to me so I can get in some fun seat time. Wife is pissed, she wants a paid snow day off.
If it ever does hit here, it wouldnt do my daughter any good to drive the kitty cat :( She wants to put in some snow seat time too! :p

Well, the BX is out of the barn and ready for battle. Predictions here vary considerably but all call for HEAVY accumulations. A bit scary when the MINIMUM is 20" :0

My plan is to clean up whatever falls this evening before turning in for the night, then again first thing in the AM, and a final round after it all stops.

Lesson learned from the last big storm back in December: Plow a path back to the barn---otherwise the tractor will not see cover again for weeks!

Here in big snow country we had 100 hours of continuous starting on 12/31/09 and I had to snow blow a foot every day for 5 days, then nothing for 2 days and then another 4 days in a row.

I always tell people I have to snow blow 25 to 30 times a year, so I decided to indicate on the calendar when I had to snow blow, so on 1/11, I had snow blowed 8 times this year, and I haven't had to snow blow since then!

Since it is very cold here we haven't lost much of the snow, but snow is a fickle thing.

Not to much in Maine this winter compared to last. I was out there a few times, we got a foot then 8 inches on top of that. back in Jan. but my tractor has been sitting. Everything seems to be heading off into the ocean before it hits Maine this year.

I bring split firewood into the garage with the loader but the tractor hardly gets warmed up. Guess I shouldn't complain.
