Well, we got about 10" of snow overnight, so I guess its time to finally order some tires. I will be navigating mostly snow covered trails through the woods and over some hay fields. The vehicle is a 2005 Yamaha Rhino.

I will buy rims with the new tires to make switching back to stock easier. I don't want to use spacers, and definately want to make sure that there is no rubbing, even with snow in the wheel wells. No tracks, please

Any thoughts on good tires? size combo's, front and rear?

Any help is appreciated, btw if there are a bunch of responses this might make a good sticky, as I can't be the only one snowed in. Thanks

I have a 05 Rhino and I see you posted on other Rhino sites. I'm sure you'll get some answers soon.
I live just south of the snow belt here in Ohio and were to get some snow late today and Thursday morning. Can wait to have some fun and try her out. Do you mainly trail ride? How do you like your Rhino.

I like it alot. I mostly ride on my own property. Trails through the woods and some hay fields in the winter. Mostly low speed, but I get the tires spinning on some of the bigger hills.

So far no issues, reliability or performance wise. How is yours running?

I'm impressed so far with my Rhino, reliability or performance wise runs great. We use it for the horse stable duties including dragging the pastures and riding arena with the harrow and pulling the "Newer Spreader" poop wagon, my wife and 12 year old use it daily.

We had several drifts with snow approx. 12-15"in the pasture when pulling the spreader, she spun the entire way
(I just had to do it and the spreader acted like a plow) After thought,go around! Ya know, your looking for new tires, I really don't think they would have made any difference in these conditions, more ground clarinet would helped.

We spent the afternoon pulling the kids around the property on a sled, that was a hoot, the horses loved watching it and would run the fence line trying to keep up as we rode past.

I spoke with my Yamaha dealer Saturday morning, waiting for my sons new yellow YZ450F to come in and he said they sold 4 new Rhino this month. These things have quit a nice following.

One of the best snow tires is the Bear Claw by Kenda. You probably want to go with 26x9x12 front and 26x12x12 rears.

maxxis makes these tires called 4 Snow /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

the 4 snow is really a snow/ice performance drag tire. It would not work for the Rhino. Its way too small @ 22"

Another good snow tire option for the Rhino:

Highlifter Outlaw MST

Outlaw MST

I have these and they work well in the snow.
