I have both an F911 front mount mower and a 2210. You may have read that I adapted a blower off of a 400 series (older model) to my 2210. I originally mounted it to my F911 and then discovered the PTO on the front mount spins in the opposite direction than the front PTO on the 400 series and 2210.

There is a field conversion kit to adapt a blower from the older 400 series to a front mount but it is pricey. Not sure if there is a field conversion kit to go the other way but even if there was I do not believe it would be a viable option due to the cost.

yup,
there is a difference in the gearbox that drives the snowblower... unlike the current 2210 attachment that is chain driven, these snowblowers have a gearbox instead of the chain and sprockets. the parts breakdowns shows a center idler gear to reverse rotation, and no center gear for straight thru rotation.
learned this one the hard way!
(actually put a 47 HD blower from the 1400's on a 4310)

thanks guys, i'll keep looking. DSB, would you know the part number for that field kit? The way this winter started it looked like we were going back to old times. what happened to that? That early 12" base turned into a record warm, foggy holiday season. Anyone hears of a real good deal on something that would work for me let me know.

I believe I have the field conversion kit number somewhere for converting from tractor to front mount. I never looked into a kit to go the other way since I did not need that. As I recall the kit was over $1000. I even priced out just buying the gears for the gearbox (same gearbox housing used for both applications) but those were over $1500. I looked at quite a few options before I eventually converted the one I had to the 2210. Now that it is done I believe this setup is better than having one on the F911 anyway.

You can find the 420/430 snowblowers for a good price. I paid $575 for mine. The conversion was not really that bad.

Dutch, I thought all of the Deere 47" 2-stage blowers used a direct gearbox drive and only the single stage (46") blowers utilized a chain drive.

Nope,
these quick hitch blowers, common on the X series, up thru the small frame compacts, come with chain reduction in place of the gearbox. THere is a big difference in the 2 blowers, housing size, auger gearbox size etc..
Not that they are bad, I've used one for years, I just don't think most of us need anything that heavy for residential and light commercial usage.
