Can't comment on the blower but if I was getting a cab I would get heat. You are still breathing when you are in the cab even if you don't have heat. So if it's cold enough you will fog or even ice the windshield from that. With the heat you could let it run for little while and warm up before you go. If you wait, the fogging should not be an issue since it will warm all the glass.
