Early 80's Kubota B8200
Hey guys,

Just browsing around for a snowblower. It takes quite a bit to do my dooryard with my old Moto-4 Fourwheeler when we get more than 8" or so.

What are my options? Will about any rear mount PTO driven blower work? What are my front options? I've read that B8200's have a mid mount PTO? I don't remember seeing anything, and I can't check as I'm away for home for another month.

I saw somewhere the Kubota L322 60" front mount was an option. How was this driven? I saw one blurry picture that appeared to have hoses going back to the rear pto. Hydraulic?

Anyone else know some options I can search for on Craigslist, etc? Thanks a bunch fellahs.

For what it would cost you to purchase a front mount if the mounting frame was available you would be better off buying a motorised Bercomac for the Kubota and Polaris ATV'S andf RTV'S ;)

Any options what so ever? I could live with a rear mount if its under $1000 used.

Is there a mid PTO or front PTO on a manual tranny B8200? Like I said, I would check, but I'm not going to be around the tractor for a few months.

Virtually any rear mount blower should work fine. I would get one just wider than the track of the rear tires. If the width of the tires is 4', I'd look for a 54" or 60" max. I'm not sure about your tractor, but alot of the older tractors ran front blowers off a front PTO which is driven off the front of the engine. Even if you have a mid PTO, I'd think it would be difficult to find a front mounted set-up. Nothing Kubota currently sells is going to fit without a fair amount of modification.

Last year, after we had our 41" of heavy snow, I considered how useful a blower would be, and checked into getting one for my B8200, which sounds like it's about the same as yours. You gotta realize that you don't have a lot of rear PTO horsepower- 17(?)... so the size of the snow blower is limited. I think a 60" or smaller blower was about the size I had determined I could handle, but the ones I bid on on eBay went for more than I wanted to pay. Also, remember that you have to really have the rpms up to make the blower work properly, so the joy of operating your tractor may be reduced by all the noise and knowledge you're really working your engine. I settled on some good chains, instead, and of course we've had almost no snow- yet.
