Will a JD model 47 Snowblower fit a JD 855 tractor? ...without welding...

What would I need to install it?
The model 47 currently has a JD 318 mount on it?
Will the 318 mount work on the JD855?

Thanks,

Yes you can fit the 47" blower to your 855 with no welding...

BUT I have no clue about the mounts for the 318 fitting on the 855, but Deere does offer a mounting kit for the 47" blower to fit the 6/7/8/955's

The 855 has the mid pto but what else is required to hook up the snowblower?

Does the kit contain everything?

Deere does not offer mounts for 47 inch snowblower.855 is to wide for 47 inch blower.59 inch snowblower has mounts for 855.

While I agree the 47" is little narrow for an 855....You are wrong about the mounting kit....Deere DOES offer the Mounting kit..

Take a look at Catalog #1926 on JDParts.com...
-Sectional Index
-Section: 50 - 655,755, AND 855 COMPACT UTILITY TRACTORS

If you got it cheap enough you could have some 6" "wings" fabbed up for each side so you end up with a 6' Blower..

It's in fair shape and I can get it for scrap metal prices!

I'm worried the mounting parts for a standard front mount will make it way too expensive with all the pto, driveline and mounting parts.

For convenience and cost, I'd prefer to make it a rear 3pt. type blower but I'm not sure how difficult that would be or if the pto would be spinning the right direction?

Any Ideas?

The rear PTO is 540 RPM while the mid-PTO is 2100 RPM.

First off....It wont work on the 3pt....the Mid PTO turns at 2,000 rpm, rear PTO at 540...(I've seen 47" blowers setup with many different gearboxes for different applications, so I wont comment on the rotation direction aspect) so right there that busts your bubble... IMO, if your not a fabricator type, etc... I'd probably have to suggest that you pass on this one and find one especially for your tractor...

2 Summers ago I found a COMPLETE 47" blower setup for an 55 series like you have for $750 bucks, but once I priced out the parts needed to make it work on my F935 I let it go...then last summer I found a blower for my 935 at around the same price....as usual, by the time I found it I didnt need one anymore because I had just bought my 3520....

I don't think you will get it mounted and running with the 318 hardware without some serious fabrication and welding-and to get the front QH and PTO set-up from JD will cost a boatload of money even if they have all the parts.

Look for a used 3PH blower that fits your needs...you will be further ahead in the long run.
