Snowblower retro fit?????

Hi,

I have a buddy who has a '99 16 horse Airens (HT?)and he needs a snowblower. I told him to check with a dealer for compatibility, but in the back of my mind I don't think it would be to hard to make most any garden tractor blower work. A little welding and fab work and maybe some belt experimenting but shouldn't be too bad. Right? OR am I nuts?

Most any? I'd say no, but if you can find one with a similar drive layout, it's doable. What you want to avoid is getting a snowblower that was designed to be driven from the left side and the tractor is set up for the right side, you want the pulleys to be in roughly the same location and same orientation, or you will have to fab up all sorts of stuff to get the drive to work.
