Hey guys, looking for a snowblower for my CT230 that I dont have. Looking at Pronovost and Lorenze. Good or bad? Any experience with these? Thinking about 70", to big? Thanks

I have a 54" Pronovost behind my 23 hp subcompact. It blows snow real well. It's built well and looks like it will last forever.

Approx how far would you say it throws snow, depends I suppose but general distance. Also I have gravel road, not ideal, but does that bother it to bad? Thanks

My Kioti CK20HST (21hp/15.7hp PTO) has no problem running my 60" JRW snowblower in the heaviest of snow and has never clogged up. I don't have experience with the brands listed but have been very impressed with my JRW which is what my dealer carries. At 540 PTO rpms - 2800 engine rpms, it will throw 8" of typical snow 20ft high and 25-30ft out into the woods. I can also cruise at full speed reverse (9 mph) in light snow without slowing down.

As far as a gravel road; my drive is gravel and I keep it down to the dirt since it's pretty steep. I just shorten up the top link so that the blades don't dig into the gravel and it does a great job of picking up the snow and not the gravel.

We get some snow!

Under ideal conditions it throws snow maybe 35 ft, but if the snow is wet I don't get that kind of distance, maybe only 15 ft if it's really soaked. As for gravel, for the first couple of storms I run the skids all the way down. That inch or two of snow that doesn't get cleaned gets packed down and seals in the gravel. Then the skids get raised so I can clean it right down to the surface. Any minor adjustments after that can be done with the top link.
Occasionally some gravel will launch through, the snowblower doesn't care. I've seen a baseball sized rock get launched, noisy but no damage. I picked up the dog's marrow bone once, that stopped the impeller and sheared the shear bolt. Again, no damage.
This snowblower is tough, and it gets the job done!
