I'm thinking, I'm thinking!

Had trouble sleeping all night. Got up early. Had to be at the clinic early to get the crane installed on my hand. Turns out they hadn't gotten the approval yet from the insurance company ... because they hadn't asked yet. So, now I have to wait longer. They made up a temporary though to help get my knuckles working again after being confined for two weeks.

Leave there, go to HF to pick up a few trinkets.

As I'm traveling down a two lane highway at 60 or so, I see an oncoming truck start to swerve. Goes right slightly, catches the grass, then keeps on going, into the culvert and a bush. I look back in my side mirror to see it hit a pole. I get stopped safe, call it in, turn around and head back. Truck had gone clean through the pole and into a large tree. Driver is ... not well off at all. Everybody gets there, does there thing, pulled him out, transport. Deputy wants to know what happened. Turns out he's known by people in the area, elderly with lots of medical issues. Heart? Stroke? Something else? Who knows. If he survives, I hope he never drives again.

Later, I'm thinking if he had faded left instead of right, I''m not sure I would have had time to react. Maybe. Maybe not.

Second time in two weeks my ticket could have been punched in a flash.

So, how was YOUR day?

I'm feeling a bit like I've already clicked on two empty chambers.

Its my fault she cant drive anymore. Im sorry but you cant keep it in your lane.

Its my fault shes in the hospital. Yes ashamedly I got you up out of the floor and called the ambulance again and again.

Its my fault shes not dead. I kid you not, yes its my bad for taking you to all the treatments and Dr. appointments.

I think she will outlive me.

It’s sad when they do get to the point of not wanting to live anymore..just so hard to know what it’s like till we’re there. Hang in there..you’ll have no regrets doing the right thing and helping. It’s just hard not to get frustrated during it!

Mine was first day at work after a week of vacation.... but still better than yours.

Though on vacation we got stuck in a highway closure due to prius vs big rig. That was ugly. RIP Prius driver

Yesterday was wife's 73rd birthday. I spent the day shopping with her for her birthday gift. Turns out she wanted a new bed and a computer. Sticker shock at seeing the prices for mattresses, almost as bad as new car sticker shock, but new bed to be here Sunday.
Next went looking for a computer. She found a good price on a 17" laptop but while waiting to get some service, she found a 10 HD Fire tablet. We finally got a salesman that informed us that the 17" Laptop that was on sale was out of stock so she settled (for now) for just the tablet.
So the day was expensive but satisfying.

PS: Also got the dog bathed.

I TOTALLY understand your fears Diggin It. There are two folks in our area that are actually older than me and still driving. Adequate control or not - they still insist on going the speeds they did when they were 40. I recognize them by the car they drive and come to full alert when they are in sight.

This big Taco Wagon is a new experience for me. It's tall, wide and very heavy( 7540#- plus me). Even with disk brakes on all four - it's still a "force" to bring to a stop. I have certainly changed my driving habits. I don't "zoom" any more. I accelerate less aggressively - more smoothly. More attention to details.

Yesterday I had to go into Spokane. Going north on a major arterial. Some A-hole blows around me - gives me the finger - laughing. Blows right thru a major intersection and NARROWLY misses multiple collisions. I don't need this crap. Some folks don't understand why I don't like these "games".

I need a remote controlled "maw-deuce" mounted in the bed of the Taco Wagon.

Banged my little toe into the door frame...same toe I broke 50 years ago, in the same manner. This time only peeled the toe nail back with a significant issue of blood...but I can walk! If it's broken, I can't tell! And I can get my shoe on!
