Tractor
Ford, LS
I love my old simple tractors, and I've been happy with them for the most part. But I started thinking about a small tractor with loader just for small jobs around the place to replace my little kubota. I've looked at 3 and 3e series Deere and have been quoted good deals on them. The dealer is a good one too. Well I made the mistake of looking at some LS tractors and man I'm impressed. The "mistake" was that they have a XR4155C that caught my eye. So I've began to consider selling my GREAT utility tractor, my 3930mfwd for one of these little cab tractors. Am I crazy lol? I havent actually priced it yet but im pretty sure I'd have no problem selling my 3930, except for the fact I might reget it... The new cab tractor would assume round bale duty and I would still have my 3610 for other odd jobs.
Should I go back to plan A and get a compact and keep my 3930? Or should I consolidate down to a new cab tractor and my old 3610? Help me out here folks!

How many hours per month/year would you spend on each one? Seems to me it comes down to which one you'd enjoy and appreciate most...

I don't spend a ton of hours but I do have 42 acres to maintain. That cab is just so tempting! But all the teir4 stuff worries me a little. From what I've been gleaning the xr41xx tractors will have a better regen cycle? But I guess it's too early to tell how reliable they'll be.

I don't really need a new tractor, but sitting in that comfy cab was nice! I could get use to that

That LS 4155C has good specs and might be the tractor for you. The only criticism I found was the 8 gals/min for the hydraulics seems low. Just my take on it but I would also consider a Deere 4066R with about the same foot print. I really like the 4520 cab I have now but the 60hp is not available now.

Yea I noticed that also. If I get a break I'm going to go test it out today. If the loader seems slugish I will probably have to pass. My other question is how I would fare going from a small utility to a large campact tractor too.

Biggest problem with LS is the low loader lift height. I had a R4047 and didn't find the loader to be slow.

I did notice the gpm looks low too. But I went and tested one this morning and man it is sweet, I'm really leaning toward selling my 3930 and getting it. The loader seemed plenty fast. I really didn't notice the loader height being low but for what I need I think it will do fine. I only go 2 high on my round bales so I think it would be good. Anyone interested in a really nice '95 1300hr mfwd 3930 with shuttle shift, optional high flow hydraulics?

20150923_192927.jpgNot sure if this will work, I'm trying to post a pic of the tractor I'm keyed in on. They had it parked with the loader up, I didn't measure the height but it seems pretty high, I think it's good for me. My 3930 is officially for sale, and I'll probably bring the new one home today or tomorrow depending on my work load. Anyways I appreciate everyone's responses and help. I know it's not nearly the tractor my 3930 is but I'm not a full time farmer, really more hobby farming and after a long day of working outdoors I can only stand a couple hours at most running a open station for the dust and more heat. With the small cab this new one will fit inside the footprint of my 3930 and not hit branches or other obstacles. And sitting in a AC or heated cab after work I know I'll get more work done. If anyone is looking for a fine low hour shuttle shift 3930 with every option available I'll make you a deal. I know some times I will miss the 3930, but hopefully I won't be kicking myself in the butt for selling it. I'll post better pics when I get the new home.
