Needed new front tires for my 165d. Current (probably original) tires are Goodyear 6-12, ag tread. I live where mail-order is the only option, and cannot drive out of here - air or water only. Ordered two Carlisle 6-12 ag tread tires. One just arrived. It looks too small in rim diameter (rim size) to me. It's about 12 inches. The Good year tire rim edge to rim edge is 13 and 1/8. Freight/postage will be too much to justify returning. Second tire will likely arrive tomorrow. What should I order for tires to fit these rims? Thanks.

If the tire says 6-12 on it and the ones on there say the same thing it will fit. I will put money on it. You have to leverage a tire onto a rim.
Thanks for the advice. I will await delivery of the second tire before I try to put them on, and even though they are only 12 inch tires it looks like some real stretching is in store if they are to go on to the rims. Years ago I put tubes in the existing tires, which are tubeless, as until I did so the tires would move in the rims and deflate when in deep wet snow. Thanks again.

You'll be ok. That 12 inches is the ID of the new tire, and the diameter of the rim shoulder where the tire id rests. It's not the visible outer OD of the rim.

Yes I left that out as well. Your looking at the shoulder, measure the bead seat on the rim I guarantee you it is 12". The old tires stretch and get loose.
