Here's mine in hunt mode, too. He's hunting sour cream from my spoon. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif Notice that his paw is up over the edge of the table. The table height is 31" and he's standing on the ground. He's a very long kitty! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif You have to keep an eye on him or he'll reach up and flip your plate or cup on the floor. And if there is cream cheese on the table he goes absolutely nuts.
He'll be 17 years old in August. He's diabetic and gets a shot twice a day. He doesn't care. We throw a couple of treats on the floor and while he's busy scarfing those down, we fluff up the scruff of his necck and shoot him. He doesn't even notice. My 11 year old gives him the shots about half the time. She wants to be a veteranarian when she grows up /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif Since he became diabetic, he lost a lot of muscle tone in his rear legs and can no longer jump on the table or kitchen counter. We thought that was great, until yesterday, when we came home and found that he has learned to open the lazy suzan and use it for a step ladder up to the kithen counter. Don't know about old dogs and new tricks, but this old cat is still learning. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
By the way, he was raised with dogs and walks on a leash when we take him to the vet or the cat hotel.

Rich -- My cats never eat the mice either, but I always figured that was because of the dogs! Molson, by the way, in his younger days was a fantastic mouser! It was hilarious to watch that big dog in hot pursuit of a mouse with his jowls flapping and his fangs bared like some sort of Electrolux on steroids! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
If Tetley, my 100# champion field golden, sees a cat with a mouse he rushes over to rescue the rodent and will carry it around in his mouth for hours to keep it "safe." The only problem is he drools so much the mouse drowns!

Reminds me of one cat we had - Shiva (i.e. the bringer of death) was also known as "Kitty Conan" for the constant string of dead bodies. Really liked to bring presents up to the bedroom at 4 in the morning 'till we closed up the cat door.
I once watched a flying squirrel navigate across the open ceiling of my old garage - fully inverted /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif I've watched the cats catch everything from garter snakes to grey squirrels (our smallest cat goes for them) through the current generation has yet to catch up to Shiva. 'Keep threatning them that we'll get a dog one of these days (maybe after I get the barn taken down) but I'll probably start with a puppy so everyones on the same 'level'.
