I confess... I bought at the dealer with the cutest secretary.
Is that so wrong??? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
While true, that wasn't really why.
Anyway, a B7610 TLB is on order and in my near future. Can't wait!
Project #1 - That darn silver maple stump in the front yard. Been soaking it in diesel/motor oil and burning for what seems years now.
#2 - Bust the beaver dam on my pond. Should give me something to do (every darn day) til I trap her out next season.
#3 - Relocate my wifes dead dog - What??? the ground was frozen...or clayey...or hardpan or ...
#4 - Deep 6 my spade, shovel, and any other digging implement that depended on my weak back.
#5 - A long list of worthy projects that I'll try to photo document and share with the community.

Cheers, edski

edski,

Welcome to TBN!!

Sounds like your in our area (SW PA). Can you clue us in on which dealer (or at least the town)?

Congrats on your new purchase. You have a decent list already so you should get plenty of seat time.

Brian, I shopped at dealers in PA, OH, and WV. I decided to purchase from Lashley's in St Clairsville, OH. Their prices were competitive, they're family owned and operated, and w/o any real info...my gut tells me they will stand by this sale should any warranty or after work be required. And...their secretary is really cute /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

The heck with the cute secretary, I have a cute wife at home. When purchasing a big ticket item PRICE is the bottom line. Messsick's in PA is the place to shop. They have it all; great pricing, knowlegable staff, inventory and they know how to close the deal. Loren Klingaman is the salesman to talk to. We were very pleased dealing with Messick's. After dealing with Messick's we realized there are no such things as deals in NJ, and did not see one cute secretary anywhere!! Peace

Ed...... I agree with you wholeheartedly. It is good to support the local economy and better when you can support the smaller dealerships so they too can continue to compete for the future. Anytime that I have a choice between the big box store and the small local dealer, I always choose the small local dealer even if it is a little more expensive. Once the little guys are out of the picture, then the big guys have the ability to change there prices and the customer hasn't much choice but to purchase from them if they want the product. This is why there are so few bakery's left..... every one buys there bread in the big grocery markets. Besides, a cute sexretary will always win my vote. Junk..../forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I worked in DC for a year or so and either walked, took the Metro, or biked every where I had to go. Driving was rarely worth the search for a parking space. DC is littered with circles; Dupont Circle, Washington Circle, Thomas Circle, etc. One night after work, a Friday happy hour, I'm shooting the breeze with a friend and ask "Hey, when you're walking and enter a circle, which way do you go...clockwise or counter?" His answer was classic, "It depends on the girl I'm stalking." Too funny. Anyway...once you decide to buy, all things being equal, a cute secretary is as good a reason to go clockwise as counter. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
When I pick up the tractor later this month, I'll get her to pose on the tractor and will take some pix. Miss March??? Maybe the begining of a "Kubota Girls" calender.

Exactly, when competition is gone we will all suffer.

Agreed, and if your local dealer can't afford to pay for quality mechanics, or send them to school for training, how can they stand behind their product and provide the service we would all like to receive.

But Kiohio...isn't there a word missing in your sig???
Shouldn't it read "Real LOUD trucks have 6 cylinders,"... /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Usually training is a requirement of the dealership if they want to maintain the franchise for the brand. If they don't send the mechanics to school to learn the new products service requirements, then the franchise is terminated. The tractor manufacturers might not be strict on this requirement, but I am certain that they would enforce it if they received complaints about a dealers performance, or lack of performance in the service department.... Junk.....

I contacted and got prices from every dealer within 100 miles of me.

Lashley's price was #15800 so I got my BX 23 for #15500 at Fairplane Tractor sales in Ripley, West Va.

IF I had it to do over again I probably would have gotten it at Hurst Tractor Sales my local dealer who is only about 2.5 miles from my house.Hurst price was $15650 .

My brother and I have known the Hurst faimly for over 45 years.
