soft cab for winter....anyone buy/build a good one?

If you put a cab on any tractor without a defroster, you will think you are driving an old air cooled VW. The defroster on an old VW was an ice scraper and a rag.

It's not that bad but I know what you mean I had an old bug and it was a ***** in the winter.

I did build a hard cab around the roll cage. The door hinges were attached to the back roll cage. Metal roof that was attached to the curved top. Screwed thick Plexiglas to front and rear of cage. I used it one year and then took the doors off, never used it again. It was so loud inside the hard cab I needed ear protection. I even attached ceiling tile to the roof, but it was like I was inside a steel drum and someone had a vibrating sander attached to the drum.

I also built a hard cab for my Kawasaki 4010 mule. Same story, VERY LOUD INSIDE.

I agree with you that it gets pretty **** loud inside the soft cab. Probably cause the walls are not insulated. I keep the side doors open so it is not has loud. Better than nothing IMO at least you are protected from the snow, rain etc falling on you. I will look into a factory cab for my CK30 next year if they are not too expensive.

Plastic might work for some, but not for me. Removing brush in the winter,will rip the plastic apart. Not to mention, over time plastic turns to crap. I used 1/4 inch plexiglass to attach to the front and rear for windows, witch will get scratched by the brush. I used metal and curved it over the roll cage for a roof. Even attached ceiling tile to inside to roof, but it was still very loud even without sides.
