Great site, but a bit bothersome that we can each be targeted so easily with this info world-wide. Not worrying, but our coordinates are easily identified to pinpoint accuracy.

Interesting site. My property is Auburn soil type, AxD. I did a report on my property for a Hotriculture class a couple years ago. All this was done by going to the library which held a soil survey book, and to county offices. This site has all the info in one place. Nice!

I did it and it shows I have 7 different types of soil. Kind of hard to understand since it's all Red Clay to me.

Bernaldo fine sandy loam
Briley loamy fine sand
Cuthbert and Redsprings soils
Elrose fine sandy loam
Kirvin very fine sandy loam
Mantachie loam
Redsprings very gravelly sandy loam

Anybody know what this means????

The Mantachie loam is where I'm building my lake. I have three layers of clay there, with the top layer being red, middle is grey and worthless, and the bottom layer is very dark brown and the best.

Eddie, Me too. Says my whole place is different kinds of sandy loam. I knew there was sandy loam, but I thought most of it was red clay. It is if you go down a few inches. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
