Sold my Wrangler Unlimited a few weeks back. Couldn't decide whether to replace it w a new 1/2 ton GM truck or get a full-size sedan. I have a 13 4wd Suburban and 18ft dovetail trailer when needed. I didn't use the bed much in the last 1/2 ton I had just due to it being much easier to load and work off of the trailer. I ended up w a new redesigned 14 Chevy Impala. It's built on the same platform as the new XTS Cadillac which was introduced in13 and has the same drivetrain ( 3.6L VVT w Direct Injection and 6 speed auto) boasting 305hp and 0 to 60 time in just over 6 seconds. Both the 14 Impala and XTS are built at the same plant. The Impala has not been an appealing car IMO since it was a RWD sedan and sported SS badges. The last year for that was 96. It was built in Arlington, TX. The new 14 Impala is a true full-size car and screams luxury on the inside. The body lines are a little retro and easy on the eyes. Took my first road trip in it this weekend from St. Louis to Paduka, KY. Plenty of power, nice balanced ride (sporty handling w not too stiff of a ride). The leather seats have superb cushioning and lumbar which can be positioned up or down to find that right spot. The optional A/C seats are a pleasure on a hot day. The new My Link connects easily by Blu Tooth to my I phone and I pod. Love all the voice command options also. Everything from Nav, phone, I pod, and apps will accept voice commands. Got a chance to play w all that this weekend. Here's a few pics.
