I very seriously doubt he has done anything to it, except list it on ebay, and craigslist. Quick profit, and some future paying repair work. Buta-bing-buta-bang. :D

IH3444 it takes these kinds of deals to keep the doors open. People like to look at base hits a dealer makes but they look the other way at the strike outs. I seriously doubt this dealer is seeing the annual net some may think. :D

I don't know, it was leaking fairly fast, a drip every 3 or 4 seconds. It was leaking from the lever base that the throttle bolted to, so it may have been a fast fix with just 1 or 2 seals. Anyway, hope it sells to another good owner.

It's in real nice condition. The only repair related thing I've noticed since getting it is a fluid leak from the power steering control valve on the steering column. I wish they would have fixed that or disclosed it at purchase. The only things I've done to it so far is add the MF emblem to the grill, add the tool box to the engine cowling, replace the muffler, and replace the brake lever return springs (one was missing). I need to fix the ps fluid leak and replace the steering wheel since it's cracked and looks like crap.

Someone removed the rear flashers and work light and cut the wiring harness, so I would like to replace all that too. Anybody know where to get a full wiring harness for a 1988 MF240?

The dealer told me that it had just been serviced and had all new filters, but upon inspection when I got home, the air filter was old and the inner air filter was not even in there, so I had to get new air filters ($75). Based on that discovery, I'll be replacing the remaining filters and oil this week.

Now that is a "real" tractor, that will hobby farm 5 or 10 acres fine or will take all the chores of a 100 acre full time farm operation. Congratulations. Ken Sweet
